Service Animal Needs

Please let us know if you’re traveling with a trained service animal:

  • Yes, I am traveling with a trained service animal.

Requests must be made at least 60 days before sail date.

Guests who are traveling with a trained service animal must obtain the required import permits per each country's regulations. Please be aware that this process may take weeks or months to complete. Additionally, some countries may not allow animals to enter.

Permits for each port of call must be sent to Disney Cruise Line Special Services Department prior to sailing. Guests must bring the original documents with them and have these available at all times.

While on board our ships, all service animals shall remain on a leash or in a harness and under your control, or that of someone in your travel party, at all times. Guests are responsible for the conduct, care, well-being and feeding of their service animals. Be advised that Disney Cruise Line Crew Members are not permitted to take control of a service animal.

Guests traveling with a service animal should contact Special Services as soon as possible to discuss required documentation and animal relief areas.

Oxygen Services

Please let us know the type of oxygen you are traveling with:

  • Oxygen concentrator

  • Compressed oxygen tanks*

Guests must make independent delivery arrangements for oxygen use on board. Due to safety concerns and storage limitations, Disney Cruise Line does not allow the carriage or use of liquid oxygen or large cylinder (greater than 680 liters or E / M-24 size) systems. Additionally, the types and quantities of oxygen cylinders allowed on board may be limited.

Only 2 cylinders per stateroom may be personally hand carried aboard by Guests; all other quantities must be delivered. Oxygen concentrators are acceptable. Guests are responsible for notifying their air carrier of any oxygen requirements. Disney Cruise Line ground transportation can only allow Guests to carry one oxygen cylinder for use while on board the transportation.

* The maximum amount of compressed oxygen tanks is 2 and maximum size is 680 liters. A Special Services Cast Member will reach out to you to confirm quantity and sizes.

medical equipment

Please let us know which medical equipment you require and/or which medical equipment you plan to bring on board*:

Verify with your personal physician that you are well enough to travel on the itinerary you have chosen. You should also carry copies of your pertinent medical and emergency contact information with you. The ships' Health Centers are equipped to provide first aid and basic emergency care. Please review your medical and travel insurance options, since many policies will not pay for services while traveling to other countries. You are responsible for making arrangements for delivery and retrieval of any medical devices/equipment. Please do not pack medical items in checked luggage.

*Limitations may apply.

These items will be noted on each restaurant menu to help you in your meal selections.

Please note that Disney Cruise Line will use reasonable efforts to prevent introducing an allergen of concern into the food by paying close attention during our sourcing, preparation and handling processes. However, it is ultimately up to the Guest to use discretion to make informed choices when ordering food items.

Disney Cruise Line cannot guarantee that allergens have not been introduced during another stage of the food-chain process or—even inadvertently—during preparation. We do not have separate or allergy-friendly kitchens to prepare allergen-free items or separate dining areas for Guests with allergies or intolerances.

We strive to use reasonable efforts in our food sourcing, preparation and handling procedures to avoid the introduction of the named allergens into your menu choices. While we take steps to prevent cross-contamination, we are unable to guarantee that a menu item is completely free of allergens.

Services for Guests with Disabilities

Request Special Services

Guests with disabilities have access to comfortable staterooms and suites, along with a full range of services, facilities, and amenities, including auxiliary aids, on every Disney Cruise Line ship and Disney's private island paradise, Castaway Cay.

If you or a member of your travel party has a disability or special medical needs, please complete and submit the Request Special Services form. ASL interpretation and Service Animal requests require advance notice. All other requests may be submitted up to 3 days prior to embarkation.

This optional form allows you to:

  • Notate dietary requirements

  • Arrange for wheelchair access and/or ground transportation lift

  • Specify if a wheelchair-accessible stateroom is required

  • Indicate your need for communication features for Guests with hearing disabilities. (For the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, you will need to book a Communication Stateroom, which will have built-in communication features. For all other ships, portable communication kits are available)

  • Indicate if you will be traveling with a service animal

  • Provide notification of medical equipment arrangements

  • Indicate if you will be traveling with oxygen

While we can't guarantee all requests will be honored, we’ll do our very best to accommodate your travel party.

  • Toilet and shower grab bars

  • Stateroom Communication Kits containing door knock and phone alerts, bed shaker notification, and a strobe light smoke detector.

A small sharps container for the disposal of needles, syringes and lancets is located in each stateroom bathroom. If you need a sharps container in your stateroom and do not see one, please inform the Crew Member who attends to your stateroom and a container will be provided. Sharps containers are also located in public restrooms.

Communication Staterooms on the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure

The Disney Wish and Disney Treasure offer Communication Staterooms with built-in communication features for Guests with hearing disabilities, including:

  • Doorbell

  • Smoke detector with visual indication

  • Indicating panel with light signals for doorbell, telephone calls, general alarm and fire alarm

  • Vibrating bed shaker under the mattress for doorbell, telephone calls, general alarm and fire alarm

Keep in mind, portable communication kits will not be available on either the Disney Wish or Disney Treasure.

Wheelchairs and Other Personal Mobility Equipment

Most public spaces on our ships—including theaters, restaurants and shops—are wheelchair accessible. Accessible public restrooms are also available. Wheelchair-accessible staterooms feature a 32-inch entrance door and a wider path of travel inside the stateroom. Typical staterooms have a narrower entrance door (23 inches) and may not have the interior space to accommodate mobility equipment.

Please note the following regarding the use of wheelchairs and mobility devices on a Disney Cruise Line ship:

  • You must provide your own wheelchair or other mobility aid and arrange for the rental, delivery and pickup of that device to and from the ship on your own.

  • Certain activities, like accessing a pool or using a tender boat to visit a port of call, require Guests to transfer out of their wheelchairs. We strongly recommend that Guests using wheelchairs sail with someone who can physically assist them when necessary.

  • Due to safety regulations, wheelchairs, scooters, strollers and other personal belongings may not be stored in public passageways and must be stored inside staterooms or in a designated public storage area.

American Sign Language Interpreters

Disney Cruise Line offers a number of services for Guests with hearing disabilities, including scheduled American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for a variety of onboard shows and entertainment. Our Sign Language service supports a schedule aligned with the Main (first) Dinner seating and the Second (late) performance in the Walt Disney Theatre.

ASL interpreters are shared by all Guests requesting the service and must be confirmed by the Disney Cruise Line Special Services Department by the stated submission deadlines or interpreters cannot be provided. Please submit requests via the Request Special Services Form.

ASL Interpretation for US-Based Cruises
To request a shared ASL interpreter, please submit the Request Special Services Form at least 30 days prior to your sail date.

ASL Interpretation for European Cruises
To assist Guests with vacation planning, Disney Cruise Line has listed the following European cruises that provide shared ASL interpretation services:

To request a shared ASL interpreter for a sailing listed above, please submit the Request Special Services Form at least 120 days prior to your sail date.

Please note: If you do not see the ASL interpreter option on the Special Services form, this means an ASL interpreter is not available for your selected sailing.

Children with Disabilities

Disney's Oceaneer Lab and Disney's Oceaneer Club are designed for kids ages 3 to 10 years old. Edge provides a space for tweens (ages 11 to 14) and teens (ages 14 to 17) can experience Vibe.

Our Youth Activity programs are available to children who are fully toilet trained, able to individually participate within our counselor-to-child ratio groups and interact socially and comfortably with peers of their own age and physical size. We are unable to provide one-on-one counselor care, a counselor with specialty training or counselor-assisted medical attention.

Epinephrine injector medication must be in the original container with the expiration date and labeled with the child’s name, instructions for use and name of the child’s physician. If the epinephrine injector is not in the original container, a hard copy of the prescription with the child's name, instructions for use and the name of the child's physician can be accepted as a replacement.

Additional participation guidelines and restrictions may apply and are established to provide a safe and secure youth entertainment environment. Open House hours are also available so the entire family can join the fun and participate together.

For an additional fee, group childcare is available for children ages 3 and younger; we do not provide childcare in Guest staterooms.

Wireless Internet Access (Wi-Fi) and Medical Devices

Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of internet packages—including family and pay-as-you-go plans. Package costs are based on data usage.

Please note that due to satellite connectivity and the technology involved, onboard wireless internet service will be noticeably slower than what you may be accustomed to and may at times be interrupted or unavailable. Guests who monitor/maintain a medical condition wirelessly should be prepared to utilize alternate means to manage their medical condition throughout the sailing.
