Night Before Debarkation Day

• Decide whether you want to deal with carrying your own luggage off the ship or have it done for you

• Stateroom Host will have left luggage tags in your stateroom

• All the luggage tags have a different Disney character on them according to which luggage group you are in

  • Each group has an approximate time that your luggage will be ready to collect in the departure area at the port

  • Instead of writing out my information for each suitcase/luggage tag, I will preprint my information and bring those stickers with me.

    • This is what you need to include on the label:

      • Room Number

      • Last Name

      • Address

      • City, State, Zip Code and Country

      • I add my cell phone number as extra

• When you checked in online you will have let Disney know how you were getting back home

  • If you have an early flight they will prioritize you on the time that the luggage reaches the collection point so that you can get to the airport as early as possible

• If Disney is to deal with your luggage you will have to have your suitcases packed, labeled, and outside your stateroom by a certain time on your final evening

  • This is usually some time around 10 pm

  • This means you will have to be backed after dinner

  • This is typically what we use

• Make sure that you do not pack essential items such as your passport or medication

• Carry your luggage off yourself (Express Walk Off)

  • The disadvantage is that you have to deal with your own luggage

  • Make sure everyone on your reservation is there because you all have to get off at the same time (no one gets to sleep in)

  • If you go to breakfast you will have to bring it anywhere because you will not be able to get back into your room

  • If you have large suitcases this can be difficult

  • The elevators are usually very busy on disembarkation day and it can be difficult to walk around the ship

  • The advantage is that you don’t have to be as organized about what you pack, and you can choose exactly what time you walk off the ship as soon as it is cleared through customs in the morning.

  • If you want to walk off the ship first thing, most ships are typically cleared by 7 - 7:15 am roughly

  • Use the stairs and do not wait for the elevators!

  • Tell the staff at dinner you plan to do express walk off and they can give you milk and cereal and bowls and spoons

• Your Disney Cruise line vacation will have to come to an official end usually no later than 9:00 - 9:30 AM.

  • This time is subject to change, as it is somewhat dependent on when the ship is cleared.

• Your stateroom should be vacated by 8 AM

• If you want room service coffee the night before make sure you order 1 – 2 carfares of coffee and it will still be warm in the morning

• Place the milk and creamer in the fridge

• Disembarkation tries to aim to walk off the ship in between the breakfast times

• Your last day breakfast will be determined by your dining rotation seating time.

  • Main seating in the dining room, your breakfast will begin between 6:45 and 7:00 AM

  • Late-seating diners are usually assigned a dining time of 8:00 AM

  • You can always eat at the buffet if you want

    • We typically do this as we try to sleep in a little on the last morning

  • Marceline Market and Cabanas stops serving food at 8:30 am sharp (6:30 to 8:30 am)

• Express Walk Off Experience

  • Luggage stays in your room and you have to carry it all off

  • Nice to be able to pack your bags in the morning

  • Out of the room by 7 am to line up in the atrium with an all-clear around 7:15 – 7:30 am

  • Once cleared the line moved off the ship quickly

  • Pain to carry all the bags through the entire port and because I had two suitcases I had to wait for the elevator and could not use the escalator

  • Customs had 3 spots open

  • I would estimate the whole process took less than 20 minutes

  • Not sure what time people started to line up but being there around 7 we were probably 30 people back in line

• Port Canaveral and Port Fort Everglades (Fort Lauderdale)

  • Have facial recognition at customs

  • There will be two lines:

    • Passport line and birth certificate line

  • If you have a passport you no longer need to take it out

  • You will walk up to a camera that will scan your face and give you a green or red light

  • green means good to go

  • Red means to stop and either re-take the photo or have them check your documents

  • This new process is VERY FAST
