Arrive in Haines and travel by expedition bus to a location where seasonal wildlife viewing is the best. Explore 6 wildlife habitats: ocean, estuary, river, lake, old growth forest and muskeg.
Use binoculars and powerful spotting scopes (photos can be taken through the scopes), as guides search for and identify: mountain goats in alpine meadows, bears along the river, seals, bald eagles, shore birds and waterfowl. This is a great opportunity to photograph the stunning scenery and wildlife in their natural habitat. Historic photos of Tlingit villages are available to compare the current landscape to how it appeared 100 years ago.
Stop by a fish weir, used to count, measure and weigh salmon during the spawning season. On the shore of a picturesque lake, experience the living tapestry beneath towering hemlock and spruce trees on a nature walk through an ancient muskeg. From the protection of your bus, witness the food chain in action as thousands of salmon swim past the hungry bruins splashing and feeding in the water.

On this adventure you will...
Meet your guide and travel approximately 30 minutes through Skagway and along the coast to Dyea and the head of the historic Chilkoot Trail.
Hike the 2-mile long climb 350 feet over Saintly Hill on the famous Chilkoot Trail, retracing the steps of the gold hungry stampeders of 1898. A knowledgeable guide will weave an entertaining mixture of natural history and Klondike folklore during the approximately 2-hour hike.
Arrive at the banks of the Taiya River, receive safety instructions and board an 18-foot raft for a scenic float (no white water) down the river. See the granite walls of North America's deepest fjord rise steeply to snow-capped peaks and hanging glaciers.

Meet your guide and begin your adventure by boarding a 150-passenger, comfortable, covered catamaran. During the approximately 40-minute ride, watch for whales and sea lions and land mammals as you explore the rugged beauty of Alaska's deepest fjord, Lynn Canal.
Arrive at the historic Fort Seward and the town of Haines, where you'll embark on a narrated 40-minute drive up the Haines Highway, a National Scenic Byway, and arrive at the Eagle Preserve. Watch for moose and trumpeter swans in the beautiful marshlands along the way.
Enjoy a deli-style riverside lunch (which may happen after the float trip) before donning rubber boots, lifejackets and receiving safety instructions.

Flight routes and landing zones are selected daily based on the weather forecast to ensure that you will see the best sights that the area has to offer. Jagged peaks towering over the Chilkat Glacier, cascading waterfalls surrounding the Ferebee Glacier, or the spectacular "river of ice" known as the Meade Glacier, may be among the wonders you will encounter during the approximate 20-minute of helicopter time.

Take flight from Skagway’s waterfront to be transported through the raw beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Your pilot will guide you over the Taiya Inlet and through the mountains to the Denver Glacier.
Once landed on the glacier, your musher will teach you about the dog sledding equipment and gear. Interact with the dogs as you learn how to prepare a sled dog team, from harnessing the eager pups to understanding their unique personalities and training techniques. Once the team is ready to go, watch the excitement and speed of these elite athletes as they dash across the glacier with their mushers. After the demonstration, you will make your way over to some cuddly puppies!

Meet your friendly guides at the dock and get started with a fun, narrated and approximate 40-minute drive to the historical town of Dyea. Upon arrival, the experienced guides will drive you up a thrilling 4x4 road, where only special vehicles can go.
Once at base camp, the guides will give you a detailed safety and equipment orientation before you are fitted with your personal gear for the tour. You will also have the opportunity to actually "zip" on a low training cable to practice the techniques that you will be using on the tour.

Meet your guide and board a ferry boat for a 45-minute scenic cruise to the town of Haines. Enjoy panoramic wilderness views as you glide along Lynn Canal, the longest and deepest fjord in North America, where the mountains rise straight up from the ocean at heights of 6,000 feet. Be sure to keep an eye out for the marine wildlife that call these waters home.
Arrive at Haines, known as the hidden jewel of Alaska, to board your motorcoach for a narrated 45-minute drive along the Chilkat River on the Haines Scenic Byway.
Disembark at the jet boat facility to board a flat-bottom river boat. The 24-passenger boat is powered by jet motors and is specially designed to traverse the shallow and narrow braided channels of the Chilkat River.
Get ready to journey deep into the true Alaskan wilderness, where moose and bears are often spotted. American bald eagles are also abundant in this area—look for them nesting along the river banks.

On this adventure you will...
Take an approximate 25-minute narrated van tour to the summit of the White Pass. Your experienced guides will tell you about the rush of 1898 and the unique geology and ecology of this rich area. You will travel from the temperate forest through the coastal mountains to the alpine!
Hop on a bicycle and coast downhill from the summit to the sea! You will be escorted for a 15-mile coast on a paved road back to Skagway. You will make frequent stops on this approximately 1.5 hour ride for photos of glacier fed waterfalls, stunning mountain landscapes, and important historical markers on the White Pass Trail. At times, wildlife is also spotted along the road! Note: Guests must be at least 4'6" tall and comfortable riding a bicycle downhill using the brake system.

On this adventure you will...
Take a brief guided driving tour through Skagway on your way to the Tongass National Forest, also known as the Tongass Rainforest. Along the way, your guide will regale you with stories about the Klondike Gold Rush and the area’s natural history.
Arrive at the trailhead for a safety briefing. Each group will be outfitted with trekking poles and binoculars.
Spend approximately 2 hours hiking through the beautiful alpine forest surrounded by the towering snow-capped mountains of the White Pass. Along the steady uphill and downhill trail, your naturalist guides will stop frequently to share their knowledge about the native flora and fauna as well as the amazing glacial history of Alaska.
