Maiden Voyage Merchandise for the Disney Fantasy
I have a few places that I would like to visit this year – California, Key West, Ohio and even Wyoming to see Devil’s Tower (though I probably won’t make it to the last one). The one thing that should be at the top of my list is another Disney cruise. I haven’t sailed in a few years (my karaoke performance last time was epic). With the launch of the Disney Fantasy this spring, it seems like a great time to go! For those who are sailing on the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Fantasy on March 31, we are introducing a new way to purchase merchandise before arriving on the ship. I spoke with Holli Bleakney, merchandise planner for Disney Cruise Line, who gave me some additional insight.
“We are offering Maiden Voyage guests a way to have select merchandise available in their staterooms once they board the ship,” explained Holli. “This new ‘pre-sell’ opportunity was based on best practices from the Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise and feedback from our guests. Our goal is to make shopping a convenient and enjoyable experience.”
Now through February 14, Maiden Voyage guests may place orders by telephone or complete an online form and send to Disney Cruise Vacations by fax or mail. You can download the form by visiting the Disney Cruise Line website. Once a guest has completed the process, the merchandise will be delivered to her or his stateroom on the first day of the Maiden Voyage.
A variety of tee-shirts, golf-style shirts, women’s apparel and hats will be available with sizes ranging from small to 3-XL. Youth shirts will also be available.
I asked Holli about the most popular items have been since the pre-sell began on December 31, 2011.
“The shirts with the words ‘Maiden Voyage’ have been most popular,” answered Holli. “These shirts were especially designed for this cruise and contain the actual cruise dates, March 31 to April 7, 2012.”
In the coming weeks, look for an article from my fellow author Erin Catalano. She will be sharing details about unique Inaugural Sailing merchandise that will be offered to Maiden Voyage guests via a random selection process. I photographed those items and they look great!
If you have extra room in your suitcase, please take me with you! If not, then “bon voyage” to the Maiden Voyage passengers.
