I know when on vacation the last thing you might be thinking about is doing laundry while on the open sea. You had everything packed perfectly and then you realized TSA went through your suitcase and your clothes were wrinkled, or some sea-sickness got on some clothes or your are a minimal packer and need to wash some items in order to re-wear them.

  • What are the hours that laundry rooms are open?

    • The laundry rooms are open 24 hours per day.

  • Can I bring my own detergent?

    • Yes, you can bring your own detergent and fabric softener if you have a brand that you prefer. In my packing list I highly recommend traveling with a few detergent pods and fabric softener sheets in their luggage.

  • How can I pay for the washer and dryer?

    • All payment is made via your Key to the World Card or MagicBand + on certain ships. Instructions on how to pay are posted in the laundry room and on each machine.

  • What running times are offered for washer and dryer?

    • The washing machine will run typically less than 1 hour and the dryer will take about 45 minute.

  • Can I explore the ship while my machines are running?

    • Yes, because the laundry is linked to your MagicBand+ or Key to the World Card and your onboard account, you can check on the status of your washing using the Navigator app. You’ll get an alert when your load is done. Please head to the laundry room once you are notified the machine is finished because other guests may be waiting for your machine.

  • Are there better times to do laundry?

    • Typically, on port days or early afternoon the laundry rooms are less busy. Also, the longer the sailing the more likely other guests will need to do laundry too.

  • What other laundry options are offered on a sailing?

    • In your stateroom there is a full-service laundry menu. Inside the closet will be a laundry bag to use with the form. If you cannot find them as your stateroom host. When you are ready tell your stateroom host or call guest services for a pickup.

  • How long does it take to get my laundry back if I use the full-service option?

    • You will typically have the item returned within 24 hours but there is also an option of a rush service that takes 3 hours for an additional charge.

  • How much does full-service laundry cost?

    • Items will typically cost between $1 and $4. Another option is dry cleaning and pressing dresses and suits. Pressing is available at half the price of the cleaning.

  • Anything else I should know?

    • I have read online that the noise from the laundry room can carry therefore it might be wise to not book a room too close to them. Both the sounds of the machines and people inside the laundry can be heard in the rooms close by.

  • There will always be more dryers than washer machines because for them to be ADA compliant there will need to be sections that have only one machine on the bottom which means a dryer will take the placer of a washer machine area and nothing above it

  • Therefore, easier to get dryer than washer machine

  • On the Wish there are more units than most of the other ships laundry areas combined
