Disney Treasure Sails onto Roku City

Roku and Disney are teaming up to add a screensaver to their Roku City which will now include the Disney Cruise Line and the Disney Treasure which is set for her maiden voyage in December 2024. In the past Roku City teamed up with Disney to add Cinderella Caste to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Roku has worked with many other companies to advertise including Paramount plus, Carnival Cruise Line and Warner Brothers. Check out the photos below for some examples.

Highlights of the screensaver include:

  • Disney Cruise Logo on the funnel and Disney Treasure on the side of the ship

  • Maui’s fishhook referencing the ship’s new Broadway style show, Disney the Tale of Moana

  • Submarine in the distance referencing the Periscope Pub

  • Disney’s Mt. Rushmore, a collection of buoys found on Castaway Cay with painted on faces of Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy

  • A glowing treasure chest referencing the Aladdin themed staterooms and atrium statue in the Grand Hall

  • In the water is Ariel sitting upon a collection of rocks

  • Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion, referencing A Haunted Mansion-themed bar 

  • From Coco Miguel’s guitar leans against a palm tree, with marigold petals floating referencing a Plaza de Coco restaurant and dinner show 

  • Pirate ship in the background referencing Hook’s Barbery

  • Mickey and Minnie’s silhouettes lounging on chairs on the beach

Roku City is more than just a screensaver for millions of Roku screeners, but a purple-hued digital downtown packed with movies and television references. According to Roku, 85 percent of its subscribers have watched the screensaver scroll while taking streaming breaks. The Disney Treasure screensaver will be available starting today and continue until January 31.
