1923 5:45 until 7:30 pm
Took a little longer than normal, seemed a little disoriented/choppy
Highlights: Burrata, filet, lobster salad, Burbank dessert
Artwork was adventure movie themed: Raya & the last dragon, Nemo, Robin Hood, Mulan, Lion King, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Encanto, Luca, Brave, Jungle Book
Tip: Order filet & lobster salad from Lighter notes section and make yourself surf & turf
Very long line for shops therefore came back to room to decorate and unpack
Watched Disney Seas the Adventure on the television while unpacking
Tip: Can watch any Broadway shows on your stateroom television on the night they are performing in the Walt Disney Theater, might be a previous recording
First thoughts: Grand Hall is stunning blue, gold, dark greens, felt homey and therapeutic, cozy and mysterious colors, really worked out the kinks and issues what were on the Wish at first, adventure themed where the treasure is the ship and all she has to offer, lush greenery in Grand Hall, Treasure has the similarity of the Wish just elevated, could say the Treasure is the masculine version of the Wish, deck 5 stairs carpet is flowing water into the fountain on deck 3
Peacock has 53 feathers as a node to the song
Chandelier changes color from orange/red to green/blue to purple/orange
6 smaller chandeliers represent the 6 ships in the fleet currently with a nod to each atrium statue
Massive Moana art work in the stairs by deck 11 is made of 3 kinds of moss that they water and trim, stop and give it a smell
Carpet FOR is red and AFT is blue/green with Cave of Wonder, even the elevators match color
Tip: Pre-booking photo package $295.95 versus $349.95 saves money and if you do not like the photos or number of photos can cancel & receive refund before last night of sailing and no matter what day you book this it is for the entire sailing
Tip: All lounges besides Scat Cat Lounge are kids friendly daily until 9 pm
MArch 9, 2025 Sea Day
Time change back to time zone of the ports
Ordered continental breakfast in the stateroom
Tip: Room service is mostly included besides some canned/bottle drinks & please remember to leave a tip for the server
Went to Marceline to grab hot breakfast & brought food back to stateroom
Gifted Brooklyn a kid’s camera & we walked around the ship taking photos
Dropped her off at the Oceaneer Club
Tip: Information the cast member at drop off that you will be doing adult dining therefore they will note it in your child’s profile
Palo brunch 10:30 am
Ana from Serbia was an excellent server and very informative
Highlights: zucchini frittata, grape & gorgonzola pizza, chicken parmesan
The Rose
Difference from the Wish has golden rose showing age as the pedals wilt and lose some to the table
Photos from animation versus Wish was live action movie
Plans to have the Destiny progress more
Picked up Brooklyn & ordered her room service for lunch
Moana 2 at Wonderland Cinema
Used refillable popcorn bucket for $2 refill
Tip: Based on the cast member but they typically honor both parks and DCL refillable popcorn buckets (no guarantee)
Jasmine meet and greet in Grand Hall
Shopping at Mickey’s Mainsail
Back to room for room service coffee (verandah time with coffee)
Worlds of Marvel
Formal night therefore photo lines very long
Overall the amount of photo and magic photos offered every night was awesome
Yes the lines are very long but it made the unlimited photo package worth it
Explored Periscope Pub
Themes from 20,000 leagues under the sea
Moved the bar to the back wall really opened it up
718 the Treasure Hull number before it is named seen all over
Lots of fun bar taps can be seen
Ceiling has screens that show sea life silhouettes taped from the sea trials and from the Sea Pavilion from EPCOT (made to feel like under the water in a submarine)
Explored Skipper Society (Jungle Cruise)
55 & 71 on paddles for years the ride opened in DL & DW
Tiki mug is a jungle cruise boat taken over by monkeys
Bar area named Ems Empress after the Ems River where the Disney Treasure made her first voyage to sea
Stage has wooden outline that has craved all the animals from the ride
Old time radio in the corner plays same music as the line Que at the parks
Beautiful parrot glass lights in the two round table areas
Jessica Jane magician in Sarabi at 8:45 pm
It was fun to be so close to stage since it was in Sarabi but some of the magic was weak or lacking, it was perfect fill in to thin out the demand for Moana show
Disney the Tale of Moana (Broadway show) offered tonight & next 6 and 8:30 pm
Tonight and through the cruise Brooklyn was surprised with Frozen bed sheets thanks to our awesome stateroom host
MArch 10, 2025 Cozumel, Mexico
Alebrije Painting Workshop - Inspired by Disney Pixar’s Feature Film Coco (CZ95) $119/$109
Same breakfast (continental and MM hot & cold food)
8:30 am at Worlds of Marvel
9 am off the ship into a very old and somewhat beat down small bus 15 – 20 min ride
Only 18 people on the port adventure therefore left like a private tour
First stop at Alebrijie 9:45 am arrival with family photos and tour of the area
Went into a small cement room with A/C and windows which was nicely decorated and displayed with Alebrijie
3 tables of tables of 6 spots
Our tour guide went deeply into the tradition and the two kinds of Alebrijie
Next up time to paint with many options of animals that all already had a base coat of paint on them with a few options
First paint was black & white to practice making the eyes
Next we selected two colors to start the process and then added as many colors as you request
Cannot paint to heavy because the paint needs to dry before you leave the complex
The more colors added the more powerful the Alebrijie
After done painting we toured the gift shop and rest rooms
Left location later than expected because bus issues 11 am
The Mayan Chocolate tour was an outdoor walking tour which was hot and humid
Learned about Mayan culture and how chocolate started
We watched and tasted a demonstration on how to make chocolate
After entering a very expensive gift shop and then the 15-minute bus ride back to the port
Eliu was our excellent tour guide and please remember to tip them
Overall, I am very pleased with the first half of the port adventure and would highly recommend this one. We learned a lot about the culture and getting to paint our Alebrijie was an awesome experience. The Mayan Chocolate tour I did not love and would not repeat but did learn alot
Walked back through the port and then back onto the ship
The Cozumel port area has plenty of shops to explore if you want or have time
Back in room by 1:30 pm ordered room service for lunch
Of note because of the rain early in the day DCL handed out ponchos to us while getting off the ship
Rested and explored the ship in particular Jade Cricket Café, DVC area, BBB and Jumbeaux’s Sweets
Watched Coco while getting ready to dine at Plaza De Coco
Mexican town of Santa Cecilia feels like we are outdoors with the way the lights are
On the first night, the story of Miguel and his familia gather in Mariachi Plaza to enjoy memories and music picks up where the movie left off
Not only play songs from the movie but also Latin American Songs
Removed the server’s tables therefore improved sight lines
Tip: Recommend watching the movie before to really take in all that the ears can hear and eyes can see
Disney Tale of Moana watched this evening
Grandma Tala tells the story
Amazing 13 foot tall puppet of Te Fiti that does something special
Dancers are the water during the entire show
Maui is very different than the movie FYI
DCL was very specific to have South Pacific actors & actresses for the show
Moana started as a puppet and aged up through the show, she was outstanding
MArch 11, 2025 George Town, Grand Cayman Pirate Night
Exclusive Sneak Peek to Grand Cayman Highlights (G79) $104/89
Same breakfast (continental and MM hot & cold food)
Grabbed towels from the pool deck to bring off and back onto the ship for excursions
I like getting them before the meeting time to pack them in a bag rather than carry them out
Cove Café for Vietnamese coffee and Quiet Cove area very nice and quiet
Because of the tender port all port adventures start later in the day
10:15 Worlds of Marvel for port adventure Nic was outstanding tour guide
Lots of notes from the excursion
Minister NDM YouTube
11 off tender boat
A 10-minute walk to the bus which was a nice bus (huge difference to previous port adventure in Cozumel)
The island is full of beautiful houses
All beaches are public beaches
800 banks on the island lots of money laundering
84,000 population and 84,000 chickens roaming island
Hurricane Ivan (9/11/04) destroyed the two major chicken farms which allowed all them to escape and now the government pays for each wild child you kill or fines you $500,000 if you are caught feeding them in public
Lots of commercial fast food but no McDonalds because there is a small family restaurant with the similar name and McDonalds wanted them to change, they said no and McDonalds has never been invited back
If caught speeding $20 per mph over, $50 per mph over in school zone
The first name of island is turtle island
Tax free economy, work visa pays for paved roads
Only pay house taxes once when purchase the house 12%
Therefore lots of abandoned homes especially after bad hurricanes
$6 per hour minimum wage
Rent is very high
Turtle stew/soup is now only offered one day per week because they are endangered
Mosquitos are very bad on the island
1503 Christopher Columbus found the island
First called Turtle Island
Lunch included either a chicken or fish dish with rice, beans, pasta salad and drinks either iced tea or lemonade
The food was outstanding with fish being so fresh and fried perfectly
I was I could have seconds
Eastern Star Fish Fry
Therefore about 45 minutes
Rain was very bad early on in the port adventure
Next stop blow hole for about 15 minutes
Graves are located on the beachfront because rocky soil only 3 feet down
Next stop Wreck of 10 sails
A 15-minute walking tour and saw some of the wrecks still in the ocean
Next stop Star Fish Beach for 45 minutes
Lots of starfish in the water
Can pick them up but not take them out of the water
Bathroom and shower very helpful at the spot
Next stop Tim Hortons
Back to the ship around 5:15 pm
Great tour, great day and Nic was an excellent tour guide, would recommend this excursion
Dinner 1923 for Pirate Menu
Stitch meet and greet 7:45 pm
Broadway visiting artists 8:30 pm
Bradley Gibson & Syndee Winters. He was Broadway’s Simba and now Hercules and she was Nala. Together they sang Disney hit songs and shared stories about how they became Broadway stars.
One thing that really stood out was their singing ability.
Pirate Parlay show we listened to and watched fireworks from our verandah (starboard side)
If you plan to watch, please make sure you completely close your verandah door (no ash will fly in)
Tip: Fireworks promptly go off at 10:33 pm and DCL magic by somehow pumping all the music from the fireworks directly to your verandah versus just hearing the rest of the show from the distance. This was an awesome experience
MArch 12, 2025 Falmouth, Jamaica
Mostly a ship/sea day
Same breakfast (continental and MM hot & cold food)
Got up around 4:30 am to quietly explore ship with photos
Off ship 9:30 am to around 11 am
Explored the fenced in port area with shops, felt very safe in this area with the family
Got great photos of the Love Locket Wall
11:30 to 1 pm pool and AquaMouse time and lunch pool deck food and MM
Sara had a spa appointment
Brooklyn got into Stitch costume, and we explore lounge, showed her secret menus, explained some imagineering secrets from 1 – 3 pm, also stopped in family arts and crafts to make a DCL ship and Wonderland Cinema to watch Elemental
Found out did not get any Scat Cat Lounge cat glasses for sailing
Cat paw prints on the piano match the steps to the dance in the movie Everyone wants to be a cat
One of those paw prints looks different as it is the paw print of an Imagineer’s pet that passed away during the making of the lounge
Bar area also extends into the Grand Hall for extra seating nice up grade
Poster outside of the lounge has all the cats of the Imagineers that worked on the lounge
As a family sat in HMP for 30 minutes watching the show and ordered a Ghostly Delight and Sour Shivers Lemonade
Lots of inspiration drawn from the original park attractions with a nautical theme, skeleton fish tank & the fish sing, paintings change & sing, ghosts show up on the mirror behind the bar and more
It is roughly a 45 minute show on repeat
All the sodas hold upside down glow and illuminate
Secret menu if rotate the iPad and fill in the blanks by moving words to release the Chilling Challenge
Tip: The demand slows down as the sailing goes on and they had no issues stocking enough special mugs (Last Catch a sea captain and Final Vow a bride) but if it is a high priority for you stop early
Worlds of Marvel Groot Remix for dinner
This show was less obtrusive than first WOM show and good music but not too loud
Music 80s to 90s volume was low therefore east to talk over
The trivia on the screen was multiple choice or identify the character, no scores or results just for fun
Quantum core turns green when correct
Food was a solid B
Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party 7:30 pm not packed at all and had a blast
Lynn Trefzger ventriloquist 8:30 pm in Walt Disney Theater
Great for young kids, hearing lots of laughter, Brooklyn enjoyed it very much, older dummy is creepy
Back to room for room service milk and cookies and bed
MArch 13, 2025 Sea Day
Same breakfast (continental and MM hot & cold food)
One thing we did on this sailing was explore stateroom doors
My wife and I walked deck 8 and 7 and commented on our favorites, took part in surveys and questions, pin trading and more
Brooklyn joined us as we explored more decks
For this sailing Sara came up with a DCLcruisingDAD magnet sign to take a free magnet with our logo and it was amazing to find some of them on other stateroom doors
This is now a new tradition we will continue for future sailings with some great ideas to come
Took it easy this morning relaxing
Jack Jack Diaper Dash at 11:30 am in Grand Hall
It was a packed house with music and 3 heats, lots of fun cheering the babies on
Tip is to get a spot 1 deck above the racetrack
Coffee at Jade Cricket Café
Look up to see the crickets having tea on the lanterns
DVC preview 12:15 for the Hei Hei shoulder plush
Encanto Celebration 12:45
This is a DO NOT MISS
Started with a craft to make butterflies with directions and pipe cleaners
Then trivia followed by 3 songs which kids can help with the sing along by playing drums and come up on stage, No Bruno song and flexing muscles with Lusia song (pressure)
Last song they did a Congo line and bam two special guests (Mirabel & Bruno)
Once song is done a line formed for the kids to talk to them and pose for photos
This is how DCL shines and makes core memories
Lunch on pool deck with pizza, grill food and MM
Adventure Tea with Royalty $250/$75 2:45 pm Grand Hall and 1923 Walt Side
Offered twice on the sailing
Tea was amazing, great gifts, lots of food and each family got their own food tower
They could modify food based on any allergies
Gifts were binoculars, bag, signing book and pen, Pascal shoulder pal, key chain compass and more with every child received the same gifts
Use the gifts during the story telling to interact
Compass keychain to help treasure seekers find their way
Started with pineapple or strawberry teas
Food examples: tuna salad, egg salad, banana & jelly, rice crispy treat, carrot cake, macaroon, chocolate chip brownie, short bread mickey ears sandwich with jam, chocolate cover marshmallows
3 princess Jasmine, Tiana and Rapunzel with Flynn
Each one had a storybook with blanks that we had to help fill in their story
This was very interactive and honestly the best Royal tea offering
Sage and Coriander really made it special with all their improv and got the whole group to participate, they are special story seeking adventures,
Make sure at the end your little one gets a photo with all the characters as that photo will show up in your room later
Core memory maker & best royal tea offering of all the ships, definitely worth the price especially with all the Sage & Coriander interactions
Dinner Plaza de coco
Themed around Dia de los Muertos celebration, Miguel will play a very special magical guitar with Hector (Day of the Dead/Celebration) and his great-great-grandparents
Excellent food tonight, music was not too loud but based on our seats it was hard to hear and pay attention
Hector and Miguel played music and songs with the band
Last song was much loader and more involved with the guests (Proud Corazon) which was excellent and we all song together
Stories From The Lamp Aladdin Retold in Grand Hall with Sage & Coriander 8:30 pm
Got front row seats
Amazing improv telling the full story being all the characters in the movie
Sat on the floor in Grand Hall as they ran around both sides of us
At the end Aladdin and Jasmine came out for photos and to talk about their story
Sage and Coriander also came out for photos and to talk
It was really an honor to get to meet them both and yes I even got a photo and named Oregano as the third spice thanks to my wife bravely for asking for me
MArch 14, 2025 Castaway Cay
Same breakfast (continental and MM hot & cold food)
Mickey churro waffle day
Yes, they are amazing and life changing
Docked between 7 and 7:30 am and was able to grab a time lapse from our verandah
Enjoyed coffee and churro waffles on the verandah
Early on it was cool with a nice breeze
Headed off the ship to family beach # 1, to swim, lay in the hammocks and enjoy Cookies BBQ
Great burger and hot dog and my daughter tells me the soft serve in CC is better than the ship
Back to the ship after lunch to start packing and more pool deck soft serve
4:15 pm Jungle Cruise activity in Grand Hall
Another Sage and Coriander excellent improv where we selected what jungle cruise boat to be in and then did challenges to score points
This was another fun activity I would recommend participating in
1923 Last Dinner
Food was yummy with some highlights from other menus
Walked around the ship after dinner and put our luggage out by 10 pm for DCL to pick up and take off the ship
8:30 pm was Beauty and Beast
9:30 pm DCL trivia tied for second with 18 and first time cheated
10:15 pm Treasure Found which was a photo opportunity for characters and then a farewell song
Typically, it is the farewell song and then photos but they did it reversed which was odd
MArch 15, 2025 Port Canaveral
Got up and out of the room around 8 am
Headed up to MM for breakfast buffet which closes at 8:30 am FYI
Sadly, headed off the ship to DCL ground transfers and to MCO airport to head home
