Disney Cruise Line Next Class of Ships between Magic Class and Dream Class

On January 10, 2025 thanks to a report from Seatrade Cruise News says that Disney’s next class of ships will be smaller than the recent Wish-class and even smaller than the Dream-class of ships already in the fleet. These ships with be a fourth ship in the Wish class and a new ship class with 3 ships in this class. All the ships will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and will launch between 2027 and 2031 bringing Disney Cruise Line’s total fleet number up to 13. Back in August 2024, Disney Cruise Line announced that it would be expanding its fleet with four all-new cruise ships at D23.

A New Class of Ships

Following the fourth Wish Class ship, DCL plans to introduce a brand-new class of ship with 3 ships in this class. Each ship measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons with a capacity for 3,000 passengers compared to Wish Class 144,000 gross tons and 4000 passengers. These ships, scheduled for delivery in 2029, 2030, and 2031, are designed to be 20% larger than the Disney Magic Class but smaller than the Dream and Wish classes. This medium size ship will allow DCL to explore new ports and areas around the world. Because the new class of ships is engineered with environmental goals these ships will run on a range of sustainable fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and renewable methanol will add to DCL plan to be on the for front of environmental concern.

  • “As we expand our fleet, it is important that we continue to provide a variety of experiences for our Guests. Families enjoy the diversity of vacations we offer, from our classic vessels to our Wish-class ships. They also expect to explore a broad range of destinations, including those that prefer to host smaller ships,” said Thomas Mazloum, president, New Experiences Portfolio & Disney Signature Experiences. “At the same time, we are focused on implementing new technology and designs that align with our longstanding commitment to the environment.”
